Two months later, he came home to a <strong>full-apartment flood<\/strong>\u2014the upstairs workers had left a <strong>tap open<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our assessment process<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We documented the damage with a <strong>visual and photographic survey<\/strong>, then used <strong>thermal imaging<\/strong> to look beyond the paint and plaster. Thermal maps help us see <strong>retained moisture<\/strong> that hasn\u2019t yet shown on the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What we found<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heavy moisture and damage in the <strong>corridor ceiling<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significant impact in <strong>bathrooms and bedrooms<\/strong>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>copious mould bloom<\/strong> on walls, furniture and soft furnishings\u2014typical after warm, stagnant moisture.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practical recommendations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Remove and replace<\/strong> affected <strong>gypsum ceilings<\/strong> and <strong>parquet<\/strong> flooring (both highly vulnerable to water damage).<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bring in <strong>professional mould remediation<\/strong> to clean, treat, and safely dispose of compromised materials.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Run <strong>dehumidifiers<\/strong> and ensure controlled ventilation, then re-test with moisture meters before reinstatement.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consider <strong>anti-mould paints<\/strong> and vapor-open finishes to help the building dry naturally.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why it matters<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Floods are dramatic, but it\u2019s the <strong>hidden wet areas<\/strong> that cause the long-term trouble.
