We were called to a property in Hamrun after the client received an unexpectedly high water bill from the Water Services Corporation.
During the first checks, the water meter continued to move even though no water was being used inside the property. That is one of the clearest reasons to book a high water bill leak inspection.
The team asked for the roof tank to be isolated so the behaviour of the meter could be compared. The meter still showed activity, so the inspection continued with visual checks, pipe-route checks and thermal inspection.
What the inspection found
The tank isolation was not working as expected, and water was still feeding the roof tank. During the wider inspection, water was also visible around pipework connected to the water heater, with signs that the issue had been active for some time.
The next step was practical: add proper isolation valves and repair the suspect pipework so the water supply could be controlled and the ongoing loss stopped.
Why this matters
A high bill is not enough to know where the leak is. The important step is checking meter behaviour, isolation points, roof tank feeds, internal pipe routes and visible symptoms together.
If your meter is still moving when everything is off, book a professional water leak detection visit before opening random areas or waiting for the next bill.
