We were called to a property in Sliema after the owner became concerned about water showing on a living-area wall.
The worry was not only the damp patch itself. There was also concern that the moisture may have been connected to a property above, which is common in apartment blocks where water can travel through slabs and shared building fabric before appearing in a different unit.
What the inspection checked
The team carried out a visual inspection and used thermal imaging to map the affected wall area. The inspection confirmed that the damp was not limited to the small visible patch.
The thermal pattern helped show the extent of the affected area and gave the client a clearer basis for speaking to the relevant property owner and planning the next repair step.
Why this matters
In Sliema blocks, the wet area is not always the source. A wall can show moisture from pipework, bathrooms, balconies, roof routes or the property above.
If water appears on a wall and the source is unclear, book a professional water leak inspection before blaming the wrong area or opening finishes unnecessarily.
